The Local Governing Body of Norton Hill School, Somervale School and Midsomer Norton Sixth Form is conducting a public consultation of its admissions policy for the 2018/19 academic year. This is in accordance with changes to government legislation.
The consultation is in line with the government’s code on School Admissions. The schools will consult on their admission arrangements for 6 weeks beginning on Monday  November and will close on Monday  January 2017. This consultation is about the proposed arrangements for admission to the schools in September 2018. All parents and guardians of secondary aged children or children due to start at secondary school in the next two years are entitled to respond. After the close of the consultation the Admissions Authority (Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership) will take account of any responses received to the proposed policy and determine the final admission arrangements.
The Code states that the final admission arrangements must be determined by the 28 February 2017 and published within 14 days. The Local Governing Body of Norton Hill School, Somervale School and Midsomer Norton Sixth Form would like to make the following changes to the policy:
Definition of what is meant by ‘home address’
Clear specification of what is understood as a sibling under the over-subscription criteria
Insertion of over subscription criteria B in the Somervale School policy
